The Philadelphia Zoo - Flamingo Habitat Renovation
Philadelphia, PA
Founded in 1859 as America‘s first zoo, this delegated design project consists of the renovations to the free-flight aviary near the McNeil Avian Center to create an interactive flamingo habitat. The new habitat includes a larger wading pool and nesting area for the flamingos, as well as a variety of other birds.
Providing guests with a dynamic feeding experience and teaching them about the importance of the habitat and the Zoo’s role in the Flamingo Species Survival Plan (SSP). The SSP is a program that aims to create a healthy assurance population of flamingos through breeding.
